Since I’ve spotted these shoes on stylebloggers Andy and Sabrina I had to check them out. They are from FINSK. The brand of shoe designer Julia Lundsten. They don’t call her the ‘Eames of footwear’ for nothing, because the designs are almost pieces of architecture.

With Manolo Blahnik complimenting her designs as: ”Exquisite, divine and perfect”, she has a promising career head of her. Take a look at our favorites:

It’s raw, it’s crazy, it’s a party how we like it! For its next edition RAUW takes a little sideway to fashion. Resident DJ Joost van Bellen (the mustached man) makes a lot of mixes for the fashionshows during AIFW and many international fashionshows, so obviously inbetween Paris Haute Couture and Berlin Fashion week, he will spin the records on July 9. But…also Andre J (the bearded man), Larry Tee (think RuPaul’s hit ‘Supermodel’, or Perez Hilton’s hit ‘My Penis’) and the OddWord (hot guys from Belgium), will make their appearance @ RAUW.

Amsterdam International Fashionweek coming soon!

The Amsterdam International Fashion Week is coming up soon. Unfortunately the programme is not that exciting this season, and we’re in the midst of changing things for the Digitalistas, but we’ll try to do our best to find the scoops and report on what our Dutch talents have in mind for us for the Summer of 2011.

Since the moment Triwa Watches were introduced in the Netherland, they’re one big hit! Every self-respected fashionista loves the pretty colors, the childish plastic bracelet often mixed with an little ‘ordinary’ golden time plate.  The prices are really oké, so it’s not that you have to save for months or even years! No, you can just go to the store, see all the candy and pick one, or two, or three. Every season Triwa comes up with some new colors, prints and inspirations. This time it’s Miami, baby! Digitalista. M. immediately fell in love with the one named ‘Coral Flamingo’! “Because this watch matches perfect with her favorite lipstick for this summer Chanel Rouge Allure Génial….”, she said. Yes, Coral-like as well. We even think she found her ‘new it-color’!

In summer, there are two things we love: Ray-ban (wayfarer, pilot and the new Rare (!)) and Valtifest (one of the best festivals in Holland during the summer). This year the two come together for a spectacular music battle. Are you great with a trombone? Or is your voice better than Madonna’s? Dutch designer Antoine Peters comes up with something very special on the night before Amsterdam International Fashion Week starts. He will not show his new collection on a classic Runway. No, you can spot his new items in the music video of his first pop song!

‘Pop artists are wearing designer clothes often. Think of Lady Gaga and Beyonce. They even start their own clothing line! I thought it would be funny to turn this fact upside down. A designer with his own pop song en music video’. Of course we are very curious about the result. What would it look like? Lady Gaga mad? Beyonce sexy? We put our money on a mix of both!

When Converse invited me for a travelling event called You’re Here, I had no idea what to expect. ‘It is something with all kinds of creative acts and celebrating the spirit of self expression’, they said. Well, and because we love creative people, Digitalista M. took the bus to Antwerp and party AND painted all night long with some cool, relaxed, and above al creative people!

Barbie loves Bas Kosters....and so do we!

After her own show during New York Fashion Week last year, Barbie took the plane and came to Holland for a new show with some of her Dutch designer friends. And because Barbie is our friend too (which girl didn’t’ play with her for hours and hours when she was little), we are still fascinated by her amazing wardrobe.

Bas Kosters, Claes Iversen, Miss Blackbirdy, Spijkers en Spijkers, Addy van den Krommenacker and SuperTrash; they all created an new outfit inspired by the perfect blond doll. The Dutch designers will show their unique outfit in department store de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam on the 10^th of July as a part of Downtown Amsterdam International Fashion Week.

Only watching it is not enough of course for the biggest Barbie fans, so de Bijenkorf will also create a Barbie pop-up store were you can buy the Barbie-design by SuperTrash and some other cool gadgets. The pop-up store in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Den Haag will open on the 5^th of July. Well, little grown-up girls, release the Barbie in you!

If Aggy starts up a blog, how would it look like? Cool, is the only correct answer. And so is Naag, the new online home of top model Agyness Deyn and best friend Fiona Byrne. Fashionfans had to wait for the blog a little while, but now the website is finally a live! Naag in a few words: ‘Talking about things we like and do and see and feel.’ The Digitalistas became Naag friends immediately! It’s always nice to see what some really cool New York chicks like.  Check them out at www.naag.com

There are not that much models blogging. With the exception of Coco Rocha. And that’s a pity, because they have interesting lives. They work with designers and photographers, they travel a lot, meet fascinating people. It’s probably more exciting to read about their adventures than to read that my neighboor has boiled an egg…So thank God for the boys! At least they take the time to give us a peek in their model lives.

Well, okay, maybe that Cesar (love the title of his blog: You know you can’t Rome without Cesar), Sen, Lyle (Lyle even has two blogs!) and Noma (has a collective blog with two fellow models) aren’t THE most famous male models, but it gives them an identity. They show that they are more than a pretty face.

When is Baptiste Giabiconi starting a blog? Don’t keep us waiting there B.!

Who did? Lady Gaga did. And what did she do? She’s obviously following good ol’ Madge’s footsteps in matters of controversy. Her new video directed by Steven Klein shows a lot of things Madonna used in her video’s before: SM, simulating orgies, referring to religion, wearing pointy bra’s, dancing half naked, steamy scenes with muscular guys, these guys also wear high heels…

But maybe Gaga is being even more edgy. Her pointy bra is made of two sawed-off gunpoints, her nun-outfit is made of latex and her dancers look like they’re part of some kind of milennium gestapo. And sorry, but we still can’t really apreciate bowl cuts. Either on guys or girls. It makes our hair rise to the ceiling. Don’t care if it’s Steven Klein’s fetish, it’s UGLY!

We preffered the video for Telephone; edgy as well, but colourful and with lots of humor. Wonder what’s next for Gaga who’s going more ‘gaga’ with each video…

My first memories of EASTPAK, brings me back to high school. Everybody had an EASTPAK! Not as spectacular looking as they do now, but oké (well in fact, my friend had a pink one…Yes, in our village, a pink bag was very rare). We pimped our bags, by putting personal notes on it. Think signatures of friends, kisses from the boy you had an eye on, etc. Nowadays, the EASTPAK collection is so diverse, that you don’t have to spice it up with a big, black pen anymore. No, young, talented designers clear the job for you! It’s nice to see, that a brand with just one main-product, stays up-and-running for years and years. I know for sure, that if I go back to my old high school, the kids will still carry an EASTPAK. If not? Tip: just visit the new Amsterdam based EASTPAK Icon store on Hartenstraat 23.  For Cool Kids Only!

After London, now it’s time for Amsterdam! These black leather python ankle boots - with a heel that measures 14,5 cm – are definitely on our list. But we would love these boots even better when it had a round toe. Unfortunately it’s only for sale without. Well, you can’t have it all..

Love it!

There are some things in life you can’t always have. This cute dress from Hervé Léger is one of it. Bummer!

So lovely, but so expensive. We still don’t understand why we haven’t won the lottery yet. But if we do, we would immediately buy this jersey metallic dress (after we took over Starbucks, Ben & Jerry’s and Pierre Hermé ofcourse!).

Shawls, T-shirts, dresses, bags, coats …. Even curtains! Digitalista E has an fascination for leopard printed things. No wonder she falls for these Brian Atwood boots.

We still don’t know where her fascination comes from. But we do know that it started a long time ago, when she asked her mom and dad to buy her leopard printed curtains, next to a leopard printed cloth, a leopard printed chair and leopard printed PJ’s. One hell of a crazy girl!

We would bet that she’ll wear it with a little black dress in combination with her leopard shawl or just with a skinny jeans and her blazer with leopard detailing. We say: WROAAAAAAR!!
